In 2021, MAAD Marie was meeting mad artists in Ghana. Meeting artists and recording freestyles on a Tascam DR-44WL. Nana Backman was the first of these new acquaintances. We all envisioned a studio and resource center so artists in Ghana could access the space, tools and support needed to secure and develop their artistic selves and future pathways.

By 2023, MAAD Marie had met Anansi Ba of ANSI House Of Culture. Together with Nana Backman, Marie and Anasi Ba held a meeting at AHOC and brainstormed a variety talk show that would be called, MAAD Misfits, and feature local artists, local business ads, limited edition custom artist merch, tattoos and street views with Backman’s character as the comedic, off-beat and entertaining host…

Ultimately, just one (alternate) pilot was filmed without Backman, a camera or variety due to reality and time constraints. It was a night-time, fireside filming featuringSaint as the guest artist and MAAD Marie appearing in alter-ego as: Captain Astro Love. The title was something “cosmic” and although we had fun, the show did not go on…

Until! The next year a conversation with local artist, Kofi Wyse, inspired this project manager to reach even further and contact a fellow creator from an Instagram comedy skit MAAD Marie had joined earlier in Accra. Target Dimension answered the call! Target Dimension has been filming and editing for MAAD Entertainment GH, since the very first episode of Interviews with Ghana’s Greatest.

At first only interviewing the people she had met, in the order she met them, the show has since grown an exponential waiting list! Now, the show does go on! As of the end of 2024, the show will be searching for a new host in a campaign led by a fellow collaborator known locally as, Joel de Bloga.
